JSignPdf is a free, open-source Java application for applying digital signatures to PDF documents. It allows individuals and organizations to sign PDFs using X.509 digital certificates stored in keystores (JKS, PKCS#12/PFX, Windows certificate store, or PKCS#11 hardware tokens), producing signatures that comply with PDF signature standards and can be verified by Adobe Reader and other PDF viewers.

Digital signatures applied with JSignPdf provide legal validity in many jurisdictions by proving the identity of the signer and guaranteeing that the document has not been altered after signing. JSignPdf supports visible signature appearances (with signature image, name, date, and reason displayed in the PDF) as well as invisible signatures embedded in the document metadata.

JSignPdf can be used in batch mode for signing large volumes of PDFs from the command line, making it suitable for automated document signing workflows. How to Install

1. Ensure Java 8 or higher is installed on your system.
2. Download the JSignPdf ZIP or installer from the link below.
3. Extract the archive or run the installer, then launch JSignPdf.jar with java -jar JSignPdf.jar for the GUI.
4. In the GUI, select your PDF file, choose your keystore type and certificate, set signature appearance options, and click Sign.
5. For batch signing, use the command-line mode: java -jar JSignPdf.jar document.pdf -ks certificate.p12 -ksp password
